Workshop
HOLD ME TIGHT®
What if the conflicts you keep having are not really about the dishes, parenting, money, or in-laws—but about a deeper need to feel loved, understood and safe with each other?
The Hold Me Tight® relationship programme, developed by Dr. Sue Johnson and based on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), helps couples understand the patterns that create distance and discover new ways of connecting and responding to one another.
Across seven conversations, you will explore emotions, attachment, negative relationship cycles, triggers, emotional injuries, intimacy and the foundations of a secure bond. Through video material, guided exercises and a workbook, you will have the opportunity to work privately with your partner and apply the ideas directly to your own relationship and learn how to create greater emotional safety and connection.
For intercultural couples, we also explore how different cultural backgrounds can shape expectations about love, communication, conflict, family and parenthood. Instead of seeing these differences as a source of conflict, you will learn to approach them with curiosity and understanding, building a shared relationship that honours both partners.
A space to slow down, reconnect and build a stronger emotional bond—across cultures and through life’s transitions.

The workshop is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 6 couples (a minimum of 4), allowing for a warm and supportive atmosphere while giving each couple enough space to focus on their own relationship.
Trainers: The workshop is facilitated by two of our three trainers: Eveline Spree, Aneli García Asensio, and Victoria Ribokas. The two trainers leading each group bring expertise in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), couples work, and an intercultural perspective. With an intercultural perspective, they also recognise how culture, family background, values, traditions, and different ways of expressing emotions can shape a couple’s relationship.
The workshop creates space to explore these cultural differences alongside attachment patterns, helping couples understand each other more deeply and build a stronger emotional connection.
Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is not suitable if you are considering ending the relationship or if there has been a recent affair. If there is aggression or violence in the relationship, we recommend seeking a different form of professional support.
The workshop is intended for couples who are generally doing well together but also experience moments of friction or disconnection. We ask that you are willing to reflect on your own behaviour and emotions, and that you are open to personal growth within your relationship.
In particular, this special edition of the HMT workshop is aimed at couples who come from different cultural, national, religious, linguistic or family backgrounds and want to strengthen their emotional connection.
You might have grown up in different countries, speak different languages, have different traditions or faith backgrounds, or have different expectations around family, parenting, communication and relationships.
You may have been together for years, or be relatively new to your relationship. You may already feel connected, or you may be experiencing recurring misunderstandings and conflicts that seem to become more complicated because of your different backgrounds.
You don't need to share the same culture to build a strong sense of “us.” The workshop helps you understand the emotional patterns underneath your differences and develop a stronger, more secure bond as a couple.
